Marks and Mann supported Rudolph for a second year
December is a special time for everyone for many reasons but at Marks and Mann we like to help as many good causes as we can. We’ve now been working with Ipswich Round Table for the past two years helping them out for one night on their annual Rudolph run.
This year the local Round Table members are collecting for Age UK Suffolk to help combat loneliness among the elderly of Ipswich and we really wanted to help.
Each year we like to cover the Broke Hall area as it’s near to our Ipswich office. This year a team of us set off at 6.30pm and combed the streets until 9pm, visiting as many homes as we could collecting on behalf of their chosen charity.
We had a fantastic night running and it’s a really nice thing for all the team to participate in. By the time the 21st of December came around we were all starting to feel the excitement of Christmas which added to the enthusiasm on the night.
Marks and Mann have enjoyed a good year and our team have worked really hard so taking a night off to help such a worthy cause could only be a good thing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we know we’ve contributed to a record year for the Rudolph appeal which is amazing. This year’s cause was such a good cause that we wanted to go the extra mile. As a result we wanted to contribute financially to the success of the appeal.
A number of companies have contributed financially to Rudolph 2015 adding to the impressive £13,000 which was collected in the buckets.
On the Broke Hall run we actually collected £931.78 on the night and we’ve decided to match this amount in full. As a result, the work that Marks and Mann staff and the Ipswich Round Table members contributed to £1,864.56 to help reduce loneliness among the people of Ipswich.
We would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped with the Rudolph appeal and we hope to work with as many of you as possible during 2016. It was great to help and we are delighted to announce that Rudolph 2015 raised £20,500 for Age UK Suffolk.
A truly impressive result indeed!
